What at the beginning was just a test website, turned into a fast growing nationwide semi truck repair shop locator. We are currently working on improving the website and SEO for it and are showing great progress on keywords that it is ranking for. This case study will be continuously updated since we are implementing a much more high level technology stack involving Python, Django and JavaScript.
We decided to test out this niche while conducting research for one of our local truck repair shop clients. While lots of directory websites displayed any sort of repair shops that were scraped from the internet, not many had sorted through and picked out the best ones.
It is not an easy task to manually filter through the good semi truck repair shops and the "not-so-good" ones, we had to lean on some sophisticated machine learning and natural language processing models to help us out. No technology task is too big for the nerdy crew at BroadSpec, so here we were... Starting with a completely new website from scratch.

When starting with a completely fresh website, there is a period of time where Google will just simply not rank your website. It's called Google's Sandbox period. The time to wait out could range from one month to a year. Lucky for us, since we have built the website with good strategies under our belt, the website started showing up on Google's search results fairly quickly and is now indexed for over 1000 keywords.
While we are continuing to add new pages and expand on the ones we added initially, we are gaining more and more momentum with this soon-to-be very competitive full-stack directory.
Results
The website is currently ranking for over 30 keywords within the first two pages of Google and is getting around 4 visitors per day. However, it is highly targeted and we have seen around 20 calls that were made the last month to the semi truck repair shops by visitors that found us through organic search. Most of these calls went to Chicago, IL truck repair shops.
Our goal is to get to 10k unique monthly visitors by June 2021 and we are more than confident that we will hit our target. At the current stage of this project, we have not started our backlink outreach campaigns yet, as well as we have not yet pushed the website through any of the social channels.
